How Early Alert Systems Improve Student Retention
How Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady University uses CRM Advise to build relationships between faculty and students.

My Ellucian story is that we were looking for a way to build retention. Of course, we had just started our advising office. We staffed advisors that would be specific to students as far as, not faculty members. And then, of course we wanted to implement an office. That spoke directly to student success. So when we did that, of course we needed the technology there.
To begin to work on the retention and build our student success as far as making sure that they reached their goals, what we did was we implemented the alerts in the Advise system where we could have faculty reach out to us through the alerts. That way, we could see those alerts and engage with those students who are having issues.
One of the things we did find was that the more alerts that we put, it allowed the faculty to really dive in and really make it specific to what the student needed. And so, with that it became A-Team effort or a group effort to make sure that our students were successful. The advisors in the office working with the faculty to make sure that that student who had issues was getting those issues resolved and giving them the tools and the resources that they need in order to be successful.
