Ulster University
Streamlining Student Records with Ellucian Blueprint
How a university took stock of modifications and customisations on the journey to modernisation.
The Challenge
To develop a digital transformation journey, Ulster University needed a comprehensive understanding of its individual Ellucian platform and customisations as well as a way to transform its student record system.
The Results
- Full inventory of custom and modified environments using Ellucian Blueprint
- Access to a shared common framework and vocabulary for system architecture that is shared with other universities
- Identification of priority activities on the institution's pathway to SaaS
Summary
Ulster University is transforming and streamlining its student record system as part of its modernisation journey. To do so, they needed to get a big-picture view of the customisations and integrations they've integrated into their platform. Ellucian gave Ulster the framework to classify, align, and manage these effectively, ensuring the university had a thorough inventory of its customisations and a unified vocabulary to make communication more efficient. We spoke with Gareth McAleese, Head of Enterprise Applications and Data; and Heather Spence, Head of Student System Support and Development; to understand what Ellucian has done for them on their journey.
