Non-profit Gretna, local authorities collect donations for flood victims in Southwest Virginia


Local authorities and organizations in our area are coming together to support those affected by the severe storms that tore through southwestern Virginia last week.

Campers Care Ministry in Gretnaa religious organization based in Gretna, has partnered with many local sheriffs, police chiefs, the Pittsylvania County Pet Center and the Virginia Sheriffs Association to provide items to families in need.

Clorox, paper towels, toiletries, canned food, bottled water, pet food and treats will be among the items collected. Cash donations will also be accepted to help pay for fuel costs needed to deliver products.

Those interested in donating can drop off items at the locations listed below:

  • The Pittsylvania County Sheriff’s Office

  • The Henry County Sheriff’s Office

  • The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office

  • The Gretna Police Department

  • The injured police department

  • Altavista Police Station

  • The Pittsylvania County Pet Center
