European Swimming League (LEN) to Implement SIGA Universal Sports Integrity Standards and go through the SIGA Independent Rating and Verification System (SIRVS). This decision follows the recent announcement made by Newly elected LEN President António José Silvathat good governance and integrity would be high on the list of organizational priorities.

SIRVS is an integral part of the SIGA ecosystem to usher the sport into a new era of enhanced governance, integrity, transparency and accountability. The objective of SIRVS is to assess and assess the sports organization’s level of implementation and compliance with the SIGA Universal Standards on Good Governance in Sport, Sports Betting Integrity, Financial Integrity in sport, youth development and child protection in sport.

The LEN is the second European organizer of sports competitions to go through the SIRVS, after the European Rugby League. IMMAF, FIDE, UEFA, La Liga Portugal, Qatar Stars League, Portuguese Olympic Committee are some of the sports organizations that will go next.

Emanuel Macedo de Medeiros, SIGA Global CEO, SIGA EUROPE Executive Chairman and SIGA AMERICA Chief Executive Officer, said, “I would like to congratulate LEN and its new management for making the right decision. Adopting SIGA Universal Standards and going through SIRVS is exactly what is expected of an organization that wants to lead by example and earn recognition from fans, sponsors, broadcasters and the entire sports industry.. They invest their passion, their money and their confidence in Sport. They need, they expect and they deserve nothing less. With this decision, LEN sends a strong signal to the sports world and the entire business community. I have no doubt that they will be heard, loud and clear.

António José Silva, President of LENsaid: “Good governance, transparency and accountability are absolutely essential for us at LEN. We are committed to stepping up and bringing our sport and our organization into a new era. We are proud to be a founding member of SIGA and are committed to implementing the SIGA Universal Standards and going through SIGA’s independent rating and certification system without further delay. This process is essential to improving how we govern and operate, and to strengthening our relationships with our members, fans and business partners. This is what I promised our Member Associations, and this is what we have set in motion today.
